Our most recent event was with Lance.  Lance is an avid bicycle rider and loves to ride to work. He recently started working at Dealer.com in Burlington.   This past Thursday night on his way home from work, he was hit by a car.  Lance had the right of way and the car hit him. Nothing worse than getting those types of calls from a loved one.

Lance could have died from this accident if he didn't have on a good helmet.  Even with the helmet he still received a concussion.  A good reminder to everyone who rides to wear a helmet.  It could save your life.

Lance was in ICU until yesterday afternoon and was released this afternoon.  He has a concussion, cuts on his nose, a swollen nose, big bump on his chin with stitches and a tear on his liver. It could have been a lot worse if he did not have a helmet on.  We have received lots of calls and well wishes for him and thank everyone for their care and concern.

Chrissy, Lance's girl friend, is keeping a good eye on him while he heals.

Well, we had a summer that started off with great happiness with Cody and Seth's wedding and are wrapping up the end of summer with some sadness.

Indy, our beloved lab, passed away at the end of August.  He was almost 12 years old.  Indy was Jake's buddy and they walked just about every day all year long.  Even now that he's been gone a few weeks, I still look for him and I've even gone to the door to call him in.  Brook the Vet sent a nice card and said he was just one of those dogs that leaves an impression.

My Friend Robin has brought in all of the fall decor and her shop.  Robin owns a beautiful shop called Sugar and Spice in Ticonderoga, NY. The shop is just bursting with fall color and decor.  I especially love all the creatures in the shop for Halloween.  I love the fabric pumpkins, witches and all of the prints that have glowing lights contained within them.  Here are a few photos:

This weekend is going to be busy.  I need to decorate the store window/VB display for next Thursday's launch.  My work this morning has included sketching the window decor and items for the top of the two large shelf units.  I think I am set.  "Think" is the operative word.

Theme: Halloween

Colors:  Black, orange, citron

Window decor - Ladder, garlands, crows

Cupboard tops: Apple crates, crows, chunky candle holders

Floor display piece: Hmmm maybe the old ladder opened up with boards across the steps...

Ava (my mannequin): Antique long black skirt - check!  Top....on the hunt.  Head.... I need to find one today or make one

Photos to be posted.  Now to start dragging out the stuff to the car.  Oh yeah, I need to take down the curtains in one of my bedroom windows and paint so that I can install at the shop and hang the ladder from them horizontally.

Okay, have I said how happy I am with my new 50 mm lens?  I love this lens!  I am experimenting, improving my shots each time and I  really enjoy the clarity and dimension.  Photos look best at maximum size to see how sharp they are.

Here's a few of my favorite shots so far:

August 6th...

Our beloved black lab, Indy Putnam passed on today. I'd like to think that he is running the fields in the land of endless tennis balls, teddy bears and dog bones.

RIP Indy - we love you.

Hey there! I took the jump to start a blog while I was recuperating from hip surgery. Although created, I wasn't quite happy with the site. Now, I have a new direction and my blog will develop in content and creativity as I learn. Those of you who know me know that I love to create all sorts of fabric art using vintage materials. Nothing better than using something over again and again and making it better.

Hey there!

Welcome to my blog. I'm still working on layout and design so comments are welcomed!
