Redemption this morning!  Jimmy let us go hunt over in the field so Jake woke me up early and we headed out the door at 4:00 am.  I had all my gear on camo boots, overalls, turtleneck, fleece cover, seat, face net, hat, gun and of course the most important item, my trusty guide.  We got settled in on a hump between two small fields.  It was quiet for awhile...all that you could hear was the wind and the trees rubbing against each other. Then slowly the little birds woke up and began calling and flying around.  I could hear  chickadees, cardinals and a even a whiporwill.  Just about dawn, two turkeys gobbled to our north.  Jake waited a bit then let out a mouth call.  One of the turkeys responded. Once he knew where the birds were, we switched positions so that I wouldn't be shooting left handed.  Jake called a couple times, the bird answered a couple times.  The turkey was still up in the tree.  How Jake can tell this is beyond me.  Finally it began to get lighter out and the turkeys were again gobbling.  Jake let out a call then said "he's on the ground, get ready".  Now this is the part of turkey hunting that is exciting....Jake could see the bird and I couldn't. Jake said "Shoot when you can see him" but I couldn't.  Finally I saw some movement and aimed for the head and shot.  Knocked that turkey right down flat.  What a great hunt!

Hey there! I took the jump to start a blog while I was recuperating from hip surgery. Although created, I wasn't quite happy with the site. Now, I have a new direction and my blog will develop in content and creativity as I learn. Those of you who know me know that I love to create all sorts of fabric art using vintage materials. Nothing better than using something over again and again and making it better.

Hey there!

Welcome to my blog. I'm still working on layout and design so comments are welcomed!
